Jul 01, 2023Jul 01, 2023

You don't want to miss the next LEGO gift with purchase (GWP). Don't believe us? Check out 7 of the coolest free gifts.

Ever wonder if it’s worth it to buy LEGO right from the source? We can give you plenty of reasons to buy directly from LEGO, but one that stands out for many brick-builders is the free gift with purchase (GWP). To prove it, we’re highlighting seven of the coolest GWP promos from LEGO.

It was big news when LEGO released its giant Eiffel Tower set. At nearly five feet in height, this buzz-worthy set came with plenty of features to merit its more than $600 price tag. To celebrate this product launch, LEGO offered a limited-time gift with the purchase of the LEGO Eiffel Tower: Eiffel’s Tower.

This free GWP from LEGO paid tribute to Gustave Eiffel by recreating his office at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Once completed, builders could enjoy period decorations and authentic details, including a minifigure of Gustave himself.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has a special place in the LEGO universe, so it makes sense one of the top LEGO GWPs would pay tribute to this franchise. The Hogwarts’ Grand Staircase set was offered in July 2022.

In addition to including an adorable Hermione Granger minifigure, the Hogwarts’ Grand Staircase set came with fun details that fans can appreciate. For example, the portrait of the Fat Lady stands guard over the entrance to the Gryffindor common room.

Star Wars Day comes every May 4 and brings plenty of celebrations, including special promotions at LEGO. In 2023, one of these promos came in the form of the Death Star II free gift with purchase.

Designed to bring to mind Star Wars scenes fromReturn of the Jedi, this set is a miniature replica of the throne room in the Death Star II. In addition to the model itself, the set included a display stand and plaque that marked the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, making this set the perfect display piece.

There’s no shortage of festive Christmas LEGO sets, and this iconic brick brand just keeps releasing new ones, including free gifts with purchase. In December 2022, LEGO unveiled the Santa’s Workshop (40565) set as a free GWP through Christmas Eve.

In this LEGO set, minifigures of Santa and an elf are shown in the toy workshop. Within the workshop, you find toys and a moving conveyor belt that transports the playthings for all the good boys and girls.

LEGO has a long and proud history, and it’s a history that inspires some fans to make the trek to The LEGO House in Billund, Denmark. Those who go are rewarded with the ability to purchase exclusive sets. However, not everyone can make it to Denmark, so LEGO released miniature versions of five of these sets as a free gift with purchase during LEGO VIP Weekend.

The Tribute to LEGO House set recreated five sets as minis. These tiny models included LEGO House, LEGO House Tree of Creativity, LEGO House Dinosaurs, The Wooden Duck, and The Brick Moulding Machine. AFOLs who were lucky enough to receive this freebie really got a big value with this set.

LEGO has worked hard to show that its bricks aren’t just for boys. That’s why it celebrated International Women’s Day 2022 with the release of a special free LEGO gift with purchase: the Jane Goodall Tribute Set.

To celebrate the achievements of this renowned conservationist and primatologist, this set included a minifigure of Jane Goodall as well as three chimpanzee figures. They appear among trees and other features that are made of plant-based plastic from sustainably sourced sugarcane, making this an eco-friendly set.

LEGO kicked off 2023 by returning to the past. In January, the LEGO gift with purchase marked the return of the Blacktron Cruiser. The original Blacktron ship came out in 1987 and this reimagined model left fans feeling full of nostalgia.

In a box that looks like it came straight from the 80s, all the pieces needed to build the Blacktron Cruiser were included. In addition to the ship, this freebie came with a Blacktron rogue and a Blacktron robot with accessories like a hammer wrench and a metal detector.
